Croch-K-Net

Croch-K-net stands for crochet/ knit connect.

This garment is constructed with a mixture of techniques such as french lacing, knitting on the domestic machine, hand knit/ crochet and plaiting.

Kendo armour is used to protect the opponent against their attacker. The material construction enables the fighter to move while maintaining protection.

This garment is constructed with knitted wire that retains its form, and can be manipulated due to its flexibility. I first began to deconstruct the concept of an exoskeleton structure to be left with the spinal core.

This allowed for the knitted wire mesh, bell wire structure to be attached in a controlled, but configured way that exaggerated the body’s contours. A protected exterior shell is created around the exterior of the body.
